NIST
Traceable Calibration of Gas Monitors / Chemical Monitors
While the numbers are constantly changing, there are about 1 million shipments of
toxic industrial chemicals crisscrossing the United States every two days. That number
does not include the number of sites which currently have those chemicals on-site for use/
disposal.
Your monitors and alarms are the first
quantitative measurement of those threats that are invisible. There is no justifiable
reason not to periodically calibrate your meters. With so much a stake, you need to send
your monitors/alarms to those with experience and the quality to ensure you are safe.
While the calibrated monitor/alarm is a
powerful tool, dont forget that your training forms the other main part of this
tool.
Some manufacturers that we tend to calibrate in quantities:
- Lifeloc
- Dräger
- MSA
- 3M
- Honeywell
- RKI
- Industrial Scientific
